Really niche internet marketing could incorporate any of the techniques discussed on this website, but we'll give some specific possible examples later. Niches are somewhat more or less narrow aspects of a subject area. For example Europe, or even say France, would be huge topics and very difficult to cover comprehensively. You could spend a life-time trying and never really cover all that was interesting about Europe or France! Holidays in France, or French history might be easier, but they are still pretty big niches, doable only if you have a lot of time to put in. Holidays is Paris or Brittany though would be better niches for the average person to cover, although there could still be plenty of competition. Working a smaller niche market, say cycling holidays in Brittany, or the wines of Bordeaux, is a better option, especially for newcomers. You can really get into the subject (whatever it is it should be one you enjoy) and cover the keywords well, including those keywords for which there are a few searches each day, but very few web sites providing information. It's the easiest kind of niche to dominate and get a reputation in. Try to make something unique and interesting about your web site. You are more likely to get good PageRanks for your keywords for smaller niche like this. You could even eventually cover a group of related micro-niches (one at a time) so that you are covering a bigger niche area with a bunch of linked websites. If you do this get different web hosts for at least some of the sites. It will make backlinks between sites more valuable to the search engine ratings. If you are not using a web host with keyword research tools (like SBI! have) then use an online tool, such as the Google keyword tool. There are others. WordTracker.com, for example, but it is not free (but they do have a free trial). You should be able to find a free tool on the web. Get your keywords sorted before you start on your web pages. You need to know what products or services you will be marketing: your own, affiliate products or outsourced products (watch for good commissions or you will find it hard, and even then there may be competition for the best products) or third party advertising (such as Google Adsense, you need a lot of pages and visitors to make this work in a big way). If the products are your own then eproducts and services are obviously easier to deliver. These can be information products, software, audio, video or advertising services. The last can be set up to run itself, if you have the right development software to make a database, such as Microsoft Expression Web. |
